FAQs

Is coin jewelry illegal?

No, coin jewelry is not illegal. It is illegal to deface coins for the purpose of making a higher denomination coin value. Refer to part one of the Disclaimer section (see below). We simply remove the coins from circulation and convert them into jewelry.

With that being said, we caution wearing coin jewelry outside of the U.S. to avoid potential complications.

What is the difference between patina and shine finish styles?

Patina is a finish style where the ring retains darkened oxidation. This highlights the details of the ring and reveals the aged characteristics of the coin.

Shine is a finish style where the ring is polished to a near mirror shine.

Examples of both can be found in our products page.

Yes. Either include desired changes in the comments section when ordering, or send us an email via the Contact Us! tab. We will reach out either verifying or denying the change before making the piece of jewelry.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Can I get a ring resized?

If a ring does not fit and needs to be resized, contact me via email or using the Custom Order tab above. Include a picture and the new preferred size.

A $20 fee will be included for band rings from orders older than 1 year.

Can the protective coating be redone?

Yes! Contact me directly via email or through the online Contact Us section. A $25 charge will be invoiced.

Will my ring turn my finger green?

Rings not made with silver or gold are coating with a protective coating to avoid reaction or greening of the skin.

This coating will wear with use.

About 10% of people have an allergy to Nickel. Often there will be redness or irritation. Some rings/jewelry made from coins (largely non-silver/gold coins) contain amounts of nickel. In this case remove the object from any skin contact.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Yes, depending on amount of wear and the type of metal (silver, copper, and alloys) may darken over time. We recommend using a light polishing cloth/pad or a jewelry sonicator to maintain shine. Jewelry is less likely to tarnish with regular wear.

Learn how to care for your jewelry with metal-specific instructions based on the coin jewelry material described in each product listing. All silver and uncoated, non-precious metal jewelry include a Jewelry Care Kit.
