The Canadian one cent coin has featured maple leaf imagery for generations. The modern maple leaf twig design was created by Canadian artist G.E. Kruger-Gray and first appeared in 1937. It remained a familiar feature on Canadian pennies, with the exception of the special 1967 Centennial design, until production of the circulation penny ended in 2012. 

These earrings are made from authentic Canadian one-cent coins dated 1968–1980. Each coin is copper and is available in a naturally aged patina or 24k gold-plated finish. Sterling silver dangle hooks complete the design, while the hand-cut maple leaf detail preserves the original coin’s identity.
